How-to: Hotel Style Curtains

The philosphy of Gotain is to make it easy, to us this means a generous amount of fabric, billowy waves and a slight fall on the floor. To get a luxorious hotel-feeling at home, we have a few tips and tricks on the way!

DOUBLE CURTAINS

Something that charactarizes many hotel rooms are double curtains, a combination of two fabrics with different qualities, that together give you that luxorious textile feel. The curtain closest to the window is often a more sheer style that lets the room be filled with light, but still gives certain protection from curious eyes. And the curtain closest to the room is of a heavier kind with a beautiful fall, that might even have a blackout effect for long mornings sleeping in?

CHOOSE A HEAVIER FABRIC

The curtain closest to the room is the one that sets the mood, so let this one be of a heavier kind (prefferably with blackout) with a generous fall and beautiful waves!

THINK HIGH AND WIDE

One of the oldest tricks in the book of hotel decor is to let the curtains drape high and wide, meaning from floor to ceiling, and wall to wall. Nail this by choosing ceiling mounted rails and letting them run alond the whole width of the room.

In the picture above the ceiling mounted rails are hidden behind a cornice.
