Hello (again) Home, Louise Hjorth

On one of the rare light days during Swedish winter, we got lucky to (re)visit our ray of sunshine Louise, whose home never ceases to inspire us! The home is the same beautiful apartment in Östermalm that we have previously admired, but oh what a great difference a change of textiles and details can do.

Since we last were here, the blue accents in the living room have given way for a natural and harmonious palette. The combination of lengths with roman blinds have changed outfit to Ivory, that beautifully contrasts against the black iron rods and a table in massive walnut. Can spring be around the corner? Because this is where they keep the light!

The ivory theme continues into the bedroom, where the deep colors have gotten a new best friend in the shape of black out curtains in woven linen. It’s with sure instinct Louise balances the mixture of contrasts, dark and structured meets light and soft. Here it’s a given!

There’s a new kid in town! Well, almost - the pelmet. This beauty has been present over the years, but lately (and in our opinion, undeservingly) misunderstood and forgotten. In the kids room the pelmet, here in woven linen, is sweeping around a canopy that drapes the bed in billowing waves of thin linen. Who said that curtains are exclusively for windows? The textile feeling is elevated by woven linen curtains in pink, which are a perfectly balanced addition of color. A room for dreaming!
